From the first phone call – to find out where to start the process of separation – I knew I was in good hands. I went to Cath Karlin for help in dealing with what was effectively an un-variable separation agreement with a punitive unvariable payment clause in relation to aliment. The original agreement did not provide for any change in aliment in the event of a change of my personal financial circumstances.
In a very short space of time Cath was able to get me out of the un-variable agreement, with a new agreement in place that I could afford to meet. On one view she accomplished the impossible within two months.
She also kept me right when I was under pressure from my ex and also from one of my children-and made me hold the line in the face of emotional blackmail. She entirely understood what I was facing and had obviously seen this many times before. She was a strong negotiator on my behalf.
Over the years I have referred friends and colleagues to Cath to help them resolve their family law difficulties and I have no hesitation in recommending her to deal with these very difficult issues. Cath is entirely personable and indeed once responded to a very upset email from me sent at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening by telephoning me from Dubai at 9:30 the same evening. Truly above and beyond the call of duty. She knows which is doing and she will look after you to the best of her ability.
